And they thought this was going to be over when?

MSNBC -Experts fear 'endless' terror war

Excerpt: MSNBC/AP: New York and Washington. Bali, Riyadh, Istanbul, Madrid. And now London.

"When will it end? Where will it all lead?

The experts aren’t encouraged. One prominent terrorism researcher sees the prospect of “endless” war. Adds the man who tracked Osama bin Laden for the CIA, “I don’t think it’s even started yet.”

An Associated Press survey of longtime students of international terrorism finds them ever more convinced, in the aftermath of London’s bloody Thursday, that the world has entered a long siege in a new kind of war. They believe that al-Qaida is mutating into a global insurgency, a possible prototype for other 21st-century movements, technologically astute, almost leaderless. And the way out is far from clear."

Figures this would come from the Associated Depressed. "It's all over now! The Jihadist are everywhere!!"

This is news?

All along since 9/11 President Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Condi Rice, have been saying over and over again, "It's going to be a long fight."

So what part did AP not understand?

Read this from GlobalExec.com:

"The war on terrorism will last as long and take as many resources as the Cold War did, the commander of the North American Aerospace Command and Northern Command recently said.

Air Force Gen. Ralph Eberhart, who was in charge of the nation's air defenses when the World Trade Center and Pentagon were attacked, said the U.S. government should prepare the public for a long haul in the global war on terrorism and use resources that were developed to fight abroad for homeland defense.

"Those who think that this war on terrorism is short-lived, just like the Gulf Wars, just like Kosovo and just like Bosnia, I think they're mistaken," Eberhart said Feb. 25 during a conference sponsored by the American Forces Communications and Electronics Association. "It's more like the Cold War than any war we've experienced in our lifetime. "

We aren't fighting "terrorists" we are fighting an ideology - Radical Islam. From the hostages in 1979, through the random attacks in the 80s, to 9/11, Spain, London, this ideology will not be defeated until the world becomes united against it.

All this talk of pulling out of Iraq, Afghanistan is worthless - Radical Islam is hell-bent on total destruction of everything and everyone who they deam "infidels". It wouldn't have matter if we went to Iraq or not - they came to us anyway. When in the heck are these people going to wake the hell up - We didn't declare war on them - they declared an ongoing war on us!

This conflict will take years, like it or not.

Yet it would never go away if we tried the way of many on the left and used "understanding" and "diplomacy". These thugs thrive on fear. They are no different than any common criminal. They will keep coming and coming until they are stopped.

That spirited reponse of brave Londoners this week: "is that the best you got? We are not afraid!" is the attitude we all better get if we are to destroy these thugs and their "from the pit of hell" ideology forever.
