Republicans Low Points in CNN Poll but Still doing Better in the Generic Ballots

 "WASHINGTON (CNN) – The Republican Party's favorable rating among Americans is at lowest level in at least a decade, according to a new national poll.

 Thirty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday say they have a favorable opinion of the Republican Party, with 54 percent viewing the GOP negatively.

 According to the poll, 53 percent have a positive opinion of the Democratic Party, with 41 percent holding an unfavorable view. The survey indicates that favorable ratings for the Democrats have dropped 5 points since February, with the Republican number slipping 3 points.

 "The Republican party may still be battling the legacy left to them by George W. Bush," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "They have also spent a lot of time in 2009 working against Democratic proposals. That hasn't left them a lot of time so far this year to present a positive, post-Bush message. Of course, there is still plenty of time for them to do so before the 2010 midterms."

 Nearly seven in ten people questioned say they disapprove of how Congress is handling its job, with 29 percent saying they approve. That's a drop of 6 points in the approval since April."

 Since CNN isn't posting the demographics we can assume some "weight" not favorable to Republicans, it's their stock and trade. Nevertheless, the numbers throughout the poll don't jive.

 How can Dems have a 53 percent approval rating and - while their in charge of congress - have a 29 approval rating?  Simply not possible.

  Republicans are still in the lead on the generic averages and gaining in local polling.

Bad News for RINOS - Get with the Program or Get Out!

Rasmussen Reports poll tells us what we conservatives already knew - that our current GOP crop is for the most part no better than Democrat-Lite:

"Seventy-four percent (74%) of Republican voters say their party’s representatives in Congress have lost touch with GOP voters nationwide over the past several years. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 18% of GOP voters believe their elected officials have done a good job representing the base. 

 Most Republican voters (55%) say that the average Republican in Congress is more liberal than the average Republican voter. Twenty-four percent (24%) say the average Republican in Congress holds views about the same as the average Republican voter while just 17% think the Congressional Republicans are more conservative than GOP voters. Republican voters overwhelmingly believe it is more important for the party to stand for what it believes in rather than trying to work with President Barack Obama. Eighty-four percent (84%) of Republicans hold that view while just 14% favor more co-operation with the President. As for voters not affiliated with either major party, 58% say the GOP should stand for what it believes in while 33% would like to see more cooperation with the President. Seventy-one percent (71%) of unaffiliated voters believe the Republicans in Congress have lost touch with their base and a plurality of unaffiliateds (41%) believe that the average Republican in Congress is more liberal than the average Republican voters."

Now is the time that the conservative base begin communicating to our party that we will stand for nothing less that they stand for conservative principles.

Credit where it's due, I've been pleasantly surprised that the GOP has stood fast on opposing Obamacare and hope they continue to stand their ground.

They'd better, or else it's adios.

Congressional Generic Ballot Continues to Heavily favor GOP

And over a long period of time.

"This summer brought a significant shift in voter preferences in the Generic Congressional Ballot. As Republican Congressional candidates once again lead Democrats by a 43% to 38% margin this week, this is now the ninth straight ballot the GOP has held a modest advantage. Over the past nine weeks, Republicans have held a two-to-five point advantage over Democrats every week. It is important to note, however, that the recent shift is not only because Republicans have been gaining support, but that Democrats have slipped in support. While support for Republican candidates ranged from 41% to 43%, support for Democrats ranged from 37% to 39%. Looking back one year ago, support was strikingly different for the parties. Throughout the summer of 2008, support for Democratic congressional candidates ranged from 45% to 48%. Republican support ranged from 34% to 37%."

It's easy. After three years of Democratic Partisan Failure, voters have had enough. But we can't take this for granted. We need strong conservative candidates who can speak conservative values to Americans that counter the liberal/socialist views they getting from Democrats.
