Misunderestimating The Palin Effect

Once again the media is missing the point.

Especially with the influence and effect of Sarah Palin. Then again perhaps they do, thus they have gone after her as if - if they could - kill her off be rid of her, simply because of what she will mean in the years to come.

Right now her book, "Going Rogue" is flying off bookshelves - 300,000 copies, far outselling that of Hillary, Obama or any other recent "media hero".

The reason is evident. People across the US are connecting and have found someone who speaks and thinks as they do.

The rumblings of the populace are growing and as the marches this summer told us they are growing in number.  The majority isn't the socialist wing of the Democratic party, it's the majority of Americans who are conservative and who have had enough with government takeover and influence in their lives.

Palin represents the beginning of the revolution to come.   As millions of copies of her book go out and other conservatives overtake the airwaves to get more activist, we shouldn't have to endure the current scourge any longer than 2012.

Once again the media will underestimate the effect, and try - as they have unsuccessfully to demonize it.  Nevertheless it will succeed.

We are winning folks, but keep up the fight!

Why Andrew Sullivan Makes Gay Ugly

Andrew Sullivan is not only a sad man who finds fun in slandering Down Syndrome Affected kids, and the moms that bore them, but he shows us just how ugly gay hatred of women can be.   Not only maniacal, but boorish and lame.

The Queen has taken a hiatus, evidently to farm 'Going Rogue' for a fresh batch of slander to come.

Yet most of us wish he would simply slide back into the slime bucket he crawled out of.

Couldn't be that lucky, could we?

'Going Rogue' Flying off Bookshelves

First run gone!
"Sarah Palin’s memoir just hit the stands today but demand for “Going Rogue: An American Life” is so strong that HarperCollins Publishers is going back to press for an additional 100,000 run, bringing the total number of hard-covers in print to 1.6 million copies. a spokeswoman for Amazon.com Inc.’s Web site noted in an email that the title “is already one of our bestselling nonfiction books of 2009.” At 2:40 p.m., the book ranked No. 1 on Amazon’s list of best sellers, with six customer reviews and 393 customer discussions. Amazon is selling the book for $14.50, a 50% discount from its $28.99 retail price."
Sure to drive the sexist liberals clean over the edge.

Newsweak Uses Unauthorized Photo In Sexist Cover of Sarah Palin

You could expect no less from a magazine which has been caught in more fabricated stories than Dan Rather at a campside.

Here is the cover.

The photo was taken by Sarah for Runner's World, yet Newsweak's motivation is evident.

In approaching several supermarket chains in the South Florida area I asked them to remove the magazine or face media coverage of why they would carry such an obvious sexist and inappropriate photo.   Today I will be following up with Barnes and Noble who also carries the magazine.

Contact them here to ask them to remove the issue from newsstands.

Two supermarket chains have responded that they will definitely look into it, another has agreed to remove it.

T-Mobile is a sponser of Newsweak, contact them here to ask if they approve of such sexism.

Palin has said that she did not authorize the photo and a call into Runner's World hasn't been returned as of yet. I will ask them to demand that Newsweak remove the offensive cover.

Contact Runners World here.

UPDATE: Sarah responds via Facebook:
"The choice of photo for the cover of this week's Newsweek is unfortunate. When it comes to Sarah Palin, this "news" magazine has relished focusing on the irrelevant rather than the relevant. The Runner's World magazine one-page profile for which this photo was taken was all about health and fitness - a subject to which I am devoted and which is critically important to this nation. The out-of-context Newsweek approach is sexist and oh-so-expected by now. If anyone can learn anything from it: it shows why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, gender, or color of skin. The media will do anything to draw attention - even if out of context. - Sarah Palin"

The backlash is growing, several local media outlets are looking into covering the controversy.

Meanwhile, David Brody hit's it on the head.

"You've got to hand it to the folks at Newsweek. They have accomplished being biased and sexist at the same time. Quite a feat. This cover has got to be a new low right? They don't use a photo of Palin on the campaign trail. No instead they take the sexy Runners World photo. Yes she posed for it but don't tell me they didn't purposely use that photo to make a point? I predict this cover will become a bigger story over the next 24-48 hours and let's face it. This isn't JUST about media bias. This cover should be insulting to women politicians. Where's the sexy photo of Mitt Romney? Why not a picture of Tim Pawlenty with an unbuttoned shirt relaxing on a couch in the Twin Cities?

Why Sarah Palin Scares the Hell out of the Left

Because she can run in 2012 and if she does she'll most likely win. Of course the left and even willy-nillies on in the middle right know this. It's why they despise her so much.

I doubt that modern history has seen such a virtual gang-rape of a female politician as we've seen of what has been done to Palin.

Had this type of treatment occurred against Hillary Clinton or even God forbid Michelle Obama liberal women would have screamed from rooftops and demanded that all involved be castrated, lose their jobs, resign their positions, and be shot at sunrise and not necessarily in that order.

Today Rasmussen found that 59% of GOP voters say Palin shares their values. That's greater than any other GOP candidate and NO other present candidate draws more crows and excites the base more than Palin.

Which is why notoriously inaccurate polling such as ABC/WAPO, which use primarily Democratic weighted samples show Palin with more un-favorability than favorability. Except that their polling doesn't poll likely voters, which Rasmussen does and shows Palin with a 51 percent favorability vs. 44 percent the other way.

Likely voters are all that counts. The liberal press knows this and continues will continue the onslaught. However it's doomed to backfire. American's typically don't like nastiness, and what they have seen since last August is simply sexist slander, one after another, and soon they will begin to reject it outright.

Like it or not Sarah Palin is the front runner for 2012, I know that makes Rick Moran scream, and other to think the MacRanger delusional, but it's nontheless true. It's her's to lose.

Another thing, if one more pundit talks about Palin's "lack of qualification", I'll personally kick their ass - I can do it too, try me. NO ONE was more unqualified for the Office of President than the current occupant, Barack Obama, and we can see just how true that is now.

Sarah's qualifications are at least that of THE ONE, and even more. So let's stop that ridiculous and silly argument, it's getting old.

AP "Fact Checks" Palin Book, Needs a Fact Check Themselves

When is the last time the AP fact checked Al Gore's books, or any other liberal books?

 When? Like never.

But then they not SARAH PALIN!
"WASHINGTON (AP) - Sarah Palin's new book reprises familiar claims from the 2008 presidential campaign that haven't become any truer over time. Ignoring substantial parts of her record if not the facts, she depicts herself as a frugal traveler on the taxpayer's dime, a reformer without ties to powerful interests and a politician roguishly indifferent to high ambition. Palin goes adrift, at times, on more contemporary issues, too. She criticizes President Barack Obama for pushing through a bailout package that actually was achieved by his Republican predecessor George W. Bush—a package she seemed to support at the time.

Bull crap!   Sarah Palin never once voiced support for the bailout under either Bush or Obama.   This is only one of the few "facts" the AP get's wrong in an unprecedented effort to slander Palin's book and her character in front of it's release.

Too bad the AP isn't exactly a leader in public trust (doctored photos, faked stories anyone?), and Palin's book will outsell any of AP's efforts over the coming months.

It's not worth the effort to tear down the other idiotic point the AP makes, but this reveals the intent.

"PALIN: "Was it ambition? I didn't think so. Ambition drives; purpose beckons." Throughout the book, Palin cites altruistic reasons for running for office, and for leaving early as Alaska governor.
THE FACTS: Few politicians own up to wanting high office for the power and prestige of it, and in this respect, Palin fits the conventional mold. But "Going Rogue" has all the characteristics of a pre-campaign manifesto, the requisite autobiography of the future candidate."
So that's a "fact check"? More of an opinion, more typical of the PDS (Palin Derange Syndrome) we've seen from the media since she entered the public stage.

UPDATE:  Agreement across the board of sanity.   Powerline:

"It appears to be a tribute to the factual accuracy of Palin's book that eleven hostile AP reporters can't come up with anything better than this."

Exactly, pathetic.

Mark Steyn:
"Coming next:
PALIN: How many AP fact-checkers does it take to change a lightbulb?
FACT: Palin has gone seriously "rogue" in her facts here. AP fact-checkers are prevented per union regulations from changing lightbulbs.
AP writers Matt Apuzzo, Sharon Theimer, Tom Raum, Rita Beamish, Beth Fouhy, H. Josef Hebert, Justin D. Pritchard, Garance Burke, Dan Joling and Lewis Shaine contributed to this joke.  We'll be here all week. "

While Obama Swoons in Polls - CNN goes after Palin

Anything to get the focus off the Glory Kid and his fading glory.
"WASHINGTON (CNN) - More than seven in 10 Americans think Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president, according to a new national poll. Seventy-one percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday morning believe the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee is not qualified to be president, with 29 percent saying she does have the credentials to serve in the White House. Republicans appear split, with 52 percent saying she's qualified and 47 percent disagreeing with that view.
The poll indicates that about half of the country, 51 percent, has an unfavorable view of Palin, with 42 percent seeing her in a positive light. Nearly two-thirds of those questioned say Palin's not a typical politician, and feel she's a good role model for women. Fifty-six percent add that Palin cares about people, and a similar amount think she's honest and trustworthy. But the survey indicates Americans are split over whether Palin shares their values, agrees with them on the issues, or if she's a strong leader."
Of course this is another weighted Democrat CNN poll.  It's designed to do nothing except to show just who the media is worried about in 2012.

If Palin was really all that unpopular why bother?  Fact is that early in 2008 polls showed the same feeling about Hillary Clinton.

Barack Obama was never really considered qualified for President by anyone with half a brain (liberals excused from that requirement), and according to his plunging poll numbers that's evident.

McCain for Palin 2012

Well now.
"Former Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain is openly admitting that there were tensions between his former campaign manager Steve Schmidt and those close to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain’s one-time White House running mate. Still, McCain calls Palin “a formidable force” in the GOP and remains open to the possibility of Palin being his party’s presidential nominee in 2012... “There are fundamental facts … that cannot be denied,” McCain adds. “When we selected or asked Sarah Palin to be my running mate, it energized our party. We were ahead in the polls, until the stock market crashed. And she still is a formidable force in the Republican Party.” “I have great affection for her,” McCain continues. But “did we always agree on everything in the past? Will we in the future? No."
You have to ask where was McCain all this time since the election, nevetheless it's about time.

Sarah Palin Wows Them in Hong Kong

By all accounts a great speech!
"A number of people who heard the speech in a packed hotel ballroom, which was closed to the media, said Mrs. Palin spoke from notes for 90 minutes and that she was articulate, well-prepared and even compelling. “The speech was wide-ranging, very balanced, and she beat all expectations,” said Doug A. Coulter, head of private equity in the Asia-Pacific region for LGT Capital Partners. “She didn’t sound at all like a far-right-wing conservative. She seemed to be positioning herself as a libertarian or a small-c conservative,” he said, adding that she mentioned both Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. “She brought up both those names.” ..Mr. Goodé, an African-American who said he did some campaign polling for President Obama, said Mrs. Palin mentioned President Obama three times on Wednesday. “And there was nothing derogatory in it, no sleight of hand, and believe me, I was listening for that,” he said, adding that Mrs. Palin referred to Mr. Obama as “our president,” with the emphasis on “our.” Mr. Goodé, a New Yorker who said he would never vote for Mrs. Palin, said she acquitted herself well. “They really prepared her well,” he said. “She was articulate and she held her own. I give her credit. They’ve tried to categorize her as not being bright. She’s bright.”
Way to knock it out of the Park Sarah, good job!

Classless Tina Fey Slanders Palin

How's this for class.  Tina Fey gets a Emmy for portraying Sarah Palin on SNL last year, and has this to say.

"Mrs. Palin is an inspiration to working mothers everywhere because she bailed on her job right before Fourth of July weekend. You are living my dream. Thank you, Mrs. Palin."

Fey is a spokesperson for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. As someone intimately related with that organization, I've asked them for a response on whether they think joking about the mother of a Down Syndrome child is appropriate. I'll update when I get a response.

The 14 Lies of Joe Biden in Last Night's Debate

Should change his name to Pinocchio Joe! Count 'em, 14 lies Joe told in the VP debate last night.

1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”

4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.

5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people's health insurance coverage -- they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false

8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska -- she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it's not a windfall profits tax.

9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO's International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation -- he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

12. TAX INCREASES : Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”

14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won't pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

C-BS Cooks the Polls (Again) for Biden/Palin Debate - Luntz Group (using real people you can see) puts the win squarely with Palin

As it should be, Palin won.

C-BS cooked up a similar poll of so-called uncommitted (people who usually don't vote anyway) after last week's democratic debate. The breakdown nearly 2-1 democrat respondent making the poll useless for anything except a headline. CNN's poll used a likewise breakdown. The quickness at which CNN posted their results - within ten minutes of the debate - proves they knew exactly how well Palin did.

The point is with Luntz's group is that it was decidedly with Palin - enormously so - and although a smaller sample it was balanced and diverse and actually had people you could see.

In essense the polls are meaningly and cooked, Palin won over America last night just as she did during the RNC. It's hugh and the polls will show it in the coming days.

What Palin has to do tonight - Semi Live Blog ***UPDATE: Sad Joe and the Nixon Shadow

Sarah Palin doesn't need to do anything tonight except be herself. Do not, I repeat, do not believe the MSM or the polls, they are missing the point on her - as they always do - big time. In spite of the MSM assasination attempts on her, Palin is still packing in crowds and it's growing - NOT shrinking.

You should no by now that polls are created to make news and it's in the question that the news is formed. Subsequently when polls are seemly showing Palin sliding in popularity nothing is further from the truth.

We see this every election. We saw it in 2000 and especially in 2004 when the media threw everything but the kitchen sink at George Bush. I remember hearing the same moaning and groaning that it was all over and that we'd all be calling John Kerry president on November 5th.

It didn't happen. It didn't happen because no matter what the polls said or the leftwing media elite threw out there America made up it's own mind and in the end George Bush won by a comfortable margin.

It's going to happen again in one month.

All Palin will have to do is show that she is the true agent of change and hope, not Barack Obama. It's funny for all the talk about how she doesn't know supreme court decisions, and seems lost in trick question interviews, people miss - or ignore - the fact that Barack Obama isn't the brightest bulb on the tree either. AFter all Palin doesn't have 300 foreign policy advisers or the army of coaches and image consultants that Obama has on the payroll.

She doesn't carry a teleprompter to ever speaking event like he does either, nor get lost when she can't find the script.

Like Obama:

In fact the best thing about Sarah Palin is that she's not a fraud like Barack Obama is, and that's all she has to get across to the American Public tonight.

UPDATE: Just dropped in, server problems again, but Palin is performing above expectations and Joe Biden looks....old and angry. This is a Nixon moment for him and may just turn this around for McCain yet. I'll comment as needed.

UPDATE: Palin wins the debate hands down. On Fox News Frank Lunz's focus group was off the chart for Palin, predicts hugh swing for McCain in the polls over the next couple of days. I agree.

UPDATE: Michelle Malkin: Sarah Rocks! Yes she does indeed and it's why you will see the media assassination attempts continue, but it's not going to work. America will be turning to Sarah Palin, one of their own who is like them in ways a Barack Hussein Obama cannot begin to.

AP's Lame Attempt at Scandal - Slime Story on Palin

Lame:

"WASILLA, Alaska (AP) -- Though Sarah Palin depicts herself as a pit bull fighting good-old-boy politics, in her years as mayor she and her friends received special benefits more typical of small-town politics as usual, an Associated Press investigation shows.

When Palin needed to sell her house during her last year as Wasilla mayor, she got the city to sign off on a special zoning exception - and did so without keeping a promise to remove a potential fire hazard.

She gladly accepted gifts from merchants: A free "awesome facial" she raved about in a thank-you note to a spa. The "absolutely gorgeous flowers" she received from a welding supply store. Even fresh salmon to take home.

She also stepped in to help friends or neighbors with City Hall dealings. She asked the City Council to add a friend to the list of speakers at a 2002 meeting - and then the friend got up and asked them to give his radio station advertising business.

That year, records show, she tried to help a neighbor and political contributor fighting City Hall over his small lakeside development. Palin wanted the city to refund some of the man's fees, but the city attorney told the mayor she didn't have the authority."

As one who worked in a city for eleven years this is standard fare and not a bit out of line. In fact our democratic mayor had a new take home vehicle for personal use which got replaced every year IN THE BUDGET. Not an eye brow raised. As you go on reading the story you find nothing that wasn't done before or after Palin.

Additionally, all these "gifts" were disclosed in public records as required. That means "AP" that it's not "unethical" to receive certain gifts or even "perks" so long as they are not forbidden by law and disclosed. Seems the writer missed that point.

Of course the next sentence is another lame attempt at "disqualifying" Palin:

"Palin claims she has more executive experience than her opponent and the two presidential candidates, but most of those years were spent running a city with a population of less than 7,000."

Which is 7000 more people than Barack Obama has ever governed over, a point which the MSM willfully misses.

By the way, Sharon Theimer, the AP writer of this story is a registered Democrat.

The Media's Amazing and Dangerous Blindness About Barack Obama

While SNL and the Media continue the assault on Sarah Palin telling us that "she's not ready" they continue to dangerously ignore the fact that Senator Barack Obama isn't ready to be the leader of the free world.

An example of this media sellout and their ridiculous arguments against Sarah Palin is brought to you by Fareed Kararia - noted Obama shrill. Commenting on the Couric interview he takes offense at Palin's answer to the "bailout question":

"COURIC: Why isn't it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries; allow them to spend more and put more money into the economy instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?

PALIN: That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.

This is nonsense—a vapid emptying out of every catchphrase about economics that came into her head. Some commentators, like CNN's Campbell Brown, have argued that it's sexist to keep Sarah Palin under wraps, as if she were a delicate flower who might wilt under the bright lights of the modern media. But the more Palin talks, the more we see that it may not be sexism but common sense that's causing the McCain campaign to treat her like a time bomb."

Note there is no reasoning for this dismissal, just "nonsense", typical of the left's swatting away of things they don't like. There was nothing wrong with the answer and in fact is the way that many Americans feel about this boondoggle of a bailout. Zakaria should get out of his Newsweak office and meet some people sometime.

Let's forget the fact of the logically fallacy of the moment. First, Obama is running for President, Palin is not. The chance of Palin, who is the VP candidate - not the Presidential candidate - taking the top position in the next four years is nearly a million to one.

So let's dispense with the false argument that whether or not she could be president NOW even matters. Let's move to the one who would be KING, Barack Obama. Leading the polls and possibly 37 from now, America may just elect a man who has had - and may still have - ties with a known domestic terrorist, and with two people with open hatred of America, Louis Farrakhan, and Jeremiah Wright.

A man who can't see to stay on subject when talking about Iraq:

Who doesn't have much more luck with healthcare:

Who can't even remember the name of a solider's name on his bracelet a mom asked him to wear.

Who has a flipant view about the dangers of Iran and Russian and other world thugs:

And who wants to disarm America so that we cannot respond to the threats that these "tiny countries" present.

There is no way that any other candidate for President would have survived such controversy and continued to be a candidate. Not only is the MSM been a willful participant in failing to cover the stories that would inform Americans about Obama, they will be totally to blame for the cataclysm that will be sure to follow.
