10:00pm: Without mentioning Abramoff (sorry dingy harry), he talks about political corruption. We've got to get things cleaned up. Amen to that.

Great speech! 5-8 points in the polls I predict.

(By the way, anyone seen Rep. Murpha?)

UPDATE: Here's Sheehan getting the boot. She just had to be an ass. Throw the book at her and then, visit here to vote YES for Cindy Sheehan for the Senate!

UPDATE II: More reax at Blogs for Bush

State of the Democratic Party

You know the saying, "Can't stand prosperity"?

Enter the Democratic Party. This afternoon while Justice Samuel Alito was being sworn in, Democrats were sitting in sackcloth and ashes wondering what hit them.

On the eve of President Bush's SOTU speech, the MSM is parading their same old tired and Democratic respondent weighted polls saying, "See? Bush is in BIG trouble!"

Forgetting of course that other less published polls (but more accurate) show it's basically 50/50 for the President at this point. But then it doesn't matter does it? He's not running again anyway.

Fact is that the Democratic Party is in disarray , not knowing what they believe, nor believing what they know. What was the term during the 2004 election? Oh yeah, "No core".

Even the press has taken notice. Lefty Extrordinaire Dana Milbank laments the anemia:

"The new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds congressional Democrats in the best position they've held in 14 years, besting President Bush and Republican lawmakers on Iraq, the economy, health care, immigration, ethics and more.

All of which can mean only one thing: It is time for the Democrats to eat their own.

Right on cue, liberal activists including Cindy Sheehan and Ramsey Clark gathered yesterday at the Busboys & Poets restaurant and bookshop at 14th and V streets NW for what they billed as a forum on "The Impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney." But the participants, while charging the administration with "crimes against humanity," a "war of aggression" and even "the supreme international crime," inevitably turned their wrath on congressional Democrats, whom they regarded as a bunch of wimps.

"Does the Democratic Party want to continue to exist or does it want to ignore what 85 percent of its supporters want?" demanded David Swanson, a labor union official who runs "Impeach PAC" and other efforts to remove Bush from office. Singling out Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid (Nev.) for derision, Swanson said that Democrats who do the right thing "are exceptions."

Fact is Dana, your party sold it's soul to the hardcore and unhinged left during 2004 and their expecting their payback. After all, they put in their quarter, they want their gum. Yet instead of getting fresh gum, their stepping in it - among other substances and continue to spiral into a vortex of confusing positions and counter positions followed by the "hoof and mouth" that their 'leaders' are known to trip into right on cue.

Clown characteratures of real people - fun to make cartoons out of. It's going to be really fun to watch the continued meltdown as they will continue to lose their 'base' (who's lost anyway), and lose yet another round of elections in 2006 and 2008.

They should have listened to Zell.

UPDATE: More evidence.

UPDATE II: Unhindged, the left prepares for the SOTU.

President Bush's State of the Union Address

Look for the Democrats to act up tonight (watch Ted Kennedy's eyes). They're not a happy bunch now that Alito has been sworn in, you can bet your canteen cup of joe on that.

Things I want him to talk about?

1. Economy. The news is good - so preach the good news! Every sector is showing marked growth. Democrats will balk, but to their own choir, the American Public knows it's sweet. Don't hold back.

3. Progress in Iraq. It's phenomimal and unprecedented. I would love to see Bush mention Christine Amanpour's stupid assed statement and show where she is nothing less than dead wrong. CNN would implode! Wolf would drop that damned clip board!

4. Call the Capital Police and arrest Senator John D. Rockefeller Jr. for treason. I know - premature - it's coming, but it would make great TV.

Go get 'em George!

More wishlists at Michelle Malkin; Polipundit

Macranger's Word to Democrats on Alito

Nuff said.

UPDATE: He's in by a 58 to 42 vote which the MSM is quick to tell us "is the smallest margin in recent history". Who cares. If you win a football game it doesn't matter if you win by one point or twenty (except in Vegas), YOU WIN!

So much for 'negative polls' and how they've neutered the Bush agenda.

UPDATE: Just to rub it in. Let the yet unborn rejoice.

Professor Bainbridge was right and he's letting us know about it!

Does anyone care what Mrs. Saddam thinks?

Anyone at all?

More at Michelle Malkin who notes Peter Arnett was also present.

Partial transcript that says it all:

"AMANPOUR: If we don't do it, who does it? We have had, uh, we have to have an independent eye on these conflicts. The war in Iraq has basically turned out to be a disaster. And journalists have paid for it, uh, paid for the privilege for witnessing and reporting that. And so have many, many other people who have been there. And I think that's terribly, terribly difficult for us. And unfortunately, for some reason which I can't fathom, the kind of awful thing that's going on there now on a daily basis has almost become humdrum. So when something happens to people that we identify, like Bob and like Doug, we wake up again and realize, no, this is not acceptable, what's going on there. And it's a terrible situation."

Ahhhhhhhh...STFU, you you pro-Palestinian twit!

No one asked you to go over there and cover anything. You do it, you take the risks involved. Quite frankly, I am much more concerned with a soldier being injured or killed than some overpaid and ego-centric "Hollywood Reporter" getting it.

Do us all a favor, just lift up your shirt -show us your "Death to Israel" t-shirt and at least after a career of deceit you'd be honest.

But until then, and in case you missed it the first time - STFU!

Out here!

Able Danger - Lancing the Boil - More of the story unfolds

Journalist Peter Lance who has been investigating 9/11 since before anyone thought of investigating it, was on Lou Dobbs tonight talking about the Yousef/Scarpa connection in reference to Able Danger. For those not familiar with the story, Mobster Gergory Scarpa Jr. was serving a thirty- year hitch at Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) where WTC-1 suspect Ramzi Yousef was housed awaiting trial in '96. Seems Yousef couldn't contain himself and was yapping his head off and bragging to Scarpa about all the dirty deeds he had done and sins yet to come.

Frontpage Magazine interviewed Lance in 2005 and here is what he had to say about the Yousef/Scarpa connection in what became known about the "FBI #302" memos:

"In the weeks prior to the downing of TWA 800 the FBI was alerted by Colombo crime family member Gregory Scarpa Jr. that Ramzi Yousef -- who was in a cell next to Scarpa Jr. at New York’s Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) -- was arranging to have his al Qaeda cohorts plant a bomb aboard a U.S. airliner. The reason? To provoke a mistrial in the Bojinka case, the first of two federal trials facing Yousef.

Yousef even shared with Scarpa the intricate details of his schematic of the same Casio-nitro bomb trigger device, he had placed aboard PAL #434 in December 1994.

Keep in mind that had the Bojinka plot been fufilled, up to a dozen U.S. jumbo jets would have had their center wing fuel tanks blown apart by Casio watch-nitroglycerine bomb triggers placed in the life jacket pouches of seats located over the tanks.

Yousef's only mistake with PAL #434 was in bomb placement, not bomb design.

Now, in the spring of 1996, weeks prior to Yousef’s trial for the Bojinka plot, the bomb maker began sending elaborate notes and bomb schematics to inmate Scarpa—who -- unknown to Yousef -- had begun working as an informant for the FBI, and passed them on to his Bureau contacts.

His original motivation was to get some downward release time on his sentence if convicted in the RICO trial he was facing.

Over the next 11 months from March, 1996 to February, 1997, Scarpa Jr. delivered dozens of copies or photographs of Yousef's notes which the FBI then summarized in their own internal #302 memos."

Peter has a website and you can click on the FBI#302 links on the top of the page to read the FBI memos for yourself.

As soon as a transcript of tonight's show is available I will post on it.

UPDATE: Here is the transcript - short but sweet.

Tales from the Pit

El-Dunderhead resurfaces - maybe....

" "My second message is to the American people, who are drowning in illusions. I tell you that Bush and his gang are shedding your blood and wasting your money in frustrated adventures," he said, speaking in a forceful and angry voice.

"The lion of Islam, Sheik Osama bin Laden, may God protect him, offered you a decent exit from your dilemma. But your leaders, who are keen to accumulate wealth, insist on throwing you in battles and killing your souls in Iraq and Afghanistan and _ God willing _ on your own land."

Sounds a lot like Al Gore or Howard Dean doesn't it? Hell it sounds a lot like Hillary Clinton of late. At least this moron could get his material from better places than Daily Kos.

Who knows when these tapes were made or even who really cares at this point. Fact is that boy has been denutered and rendered ineffective as a little dog.

A sniveling, bug infested and hell-destined little dog.

McCain - The Yellow Dog Don't Bark

Via National Review's Mark Levin:

"One of the primary and most compelling criticisms of the Clinton administration's approach to terrorism was that it treated terrorism as a criminal rather than national-security matter. The enemy declared war on us years earlier, attacking various U.S. targets and killing U.S. citizens, and we indicted them if we could muster enough evidence. Despite 9/11, today many in Congress and the judiciary, with prodding by the media and left-wing (legal) activists, continue to treat the war on terrorism as Clinton did. And one of the most vocal sponsors of this approach is John McCain.

Despite his tough talk about sending more troops to Iraq (the benefit of which is and was debatable), McCain has led an effort to diminish the traditional war-power authority of the president."

This isn't to take away from McCain's heroism and sacrifice shown this country during the Vietnam War. But in my estimation, his yellow dog tatics and proposals are exactly what we don't need now or any time in the future.

I agree with Mark that McCain wants a return to a "kinder and gentler" America under Clinton where we passed up on the chance of getting Bin Laden, because "we don't have anything concrete to hold him on".

God forbid this guy get's any further than the Senate and I will activily oppose his run for President.

Stupid Lefty Tricks

Democrats will do anything to USE our wounded.

..."That means we must convince 41 Senators to either support a filibuster or stay away from the Senate on Monday, preferably by visiting maimed soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital...."

Via this lefty blog, "Either lead, follow or get out of the way!"

How about STFU....?

Alito's in. Get over it.

That's what happens when you win elections. You don't use our wounded soldiers to make your political upchuck - you wretched simpletons.

The dying NSA story and the Hillary Factor

Sorry Kos Kids, you can stick a fork in the NSA story. It's dead.

On To Meet the Press roundtable today, Roger Simon said in reference to the NSA 'scandal':

"One more point on that. Unlike past administrations, notably the Nixon administration, there’s no evidence that the Bush administration has used this warrantless surveillance for political purposes. When the president says, ‘I’m doing this to protect the United States of America, there’s no evidence that he is in any way prevaricating. And that is why, I think, so many people are saying, as Kelly pointed out, ‘Well, I don’t talk to al-Qaeda every night, so let them tap my phones all they want to.’ And as long as this remains a genuine attempt to prevent another terrorist attack on the United States, I think the president is going to skate on this."

Well before one can "skate", you would have to say something wrong has been done. There is no evidence of that either. But while the MSM and their constituents on the moonbatty left continue to see visions of 72, the NSA issue is for all intents and purposes a dead issue. If for no other reason that 2008 and who is running for President.

The fact is that the last President who used warrentless wiretapping for much more than just political purposes was not President Nixon, but President Clinton.

Now with Hillary Clinton the decided "front runner", yet aquiring a recent case of "hoof in mouth" disease, she can ill afford to have this story on the front burner for long. The last thing she needs is people talking about those darn FBI files again. You know that the MSM for the most part lives and breathes with anticipation of a a Hillary Clinton Inauguration.

Subsequently, you can begin to kiss this story bye-bye.

The Abramoff Scandal and the Republican-focused MSM

Missed the news shows today, but AJ caught Howard Dean laying an egg on Fox News Sunday.

"In discussing the Ambramoff scandal on Fox News Sunday, DNC Chairman Howard Dean claimed no Democrat did anything in response to funds coming from Ambramoff’s direction, and if they did they would be in serious trouble.

A little later in the program, Chirs Wallace pointed out that the Washington Post reported last fall on a letter Sen Minority leader Harry Reid wrote to Secretary Norton for Indian interests represented by Abramoff - who supposedly directed the interests where to funnel donations.

Even KOS Kids new Reid was in trouble for this one.

I think it is time for Reid to be investigated and I think he should step down from his leadership position."

That would be a start. The MSM - with the exceptions noted above by and large have ignored Democratic - specifically Harry Reid's involvement in the Abramhoff brouhaha.

Yet at this point all the country sees is that one party the Republicans want to make it right and come clean, while Democrats keep silent on their own involvement - which is extensive.

It's going to back fire on them come 2006 - watch and see.

Plame Game - Andrea and Little Russ up a Creek?

Boy........I told you so....via Tom Mcguire:

"The Libby defense team recently filed a request for the court to order Special Counsel Fitzgerald to turn over the information he gleaned in his many court tussles with reporters during his investigation of the Plame leak.

Links to the filings are here; we find a special bit of bad news for the Washington Desk of NBC News:

Another issue concerning Mr. Russert’s expected testimony which the defense needs to investigate to examine him effectively at trial is whether any of the NBC reporters who worked for him were aware of Ms. Wilson’s identity prior to July 14, 2003. (6) If any such NBC reporters knew this information before that time, the defense would be entitled to gather that information to prepare its cross-examination of Mr. Russert. Once the defense gets further information about the sources who disclosed Ms. Wilson’s employment status, we can investigate whether these sources were in communication with any reporters in the NBC Washington bureau prior to July 14, 2003, or if they talked to other individuals who might have passed this information on to NBC’s Washington reporters.

The filing specifically cites Ms. Mitchell, noting her statement on Oct 3, 2003 that, among journalists following the Niger story, it was "widely known"that Ambassador Wilson's wife worked at the CIA. The filing also mentions her subsequent backpedaling"

Back peddling? Man, she with "Little Russ" on the handlebars are beginning to peal tires out of Dodge as fast as they can!
