Getting "Purity" Right

Yet another "moderate" whines:

"Those calling for ideological purity have a short memory.
Helms was repeatedly angry and frustrated at President Ronald Reagan, who would provide only lip service to such issues as abortion and school prayer.
And it was Reagan who signed a nuclear arms reduction treaty with Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev.
 This is actually an old debate.
During the 1970s and 1980s, the state Republican Party was often torn by factional warfare between Helms-style conservatives and more traditional Republicans. I was present in 1988 at a GOP convention in Franklin County in which a riot broke out, with multiple fistfights.
 The Republican Party grew rapidly in the '60s, '70s and '80s in North Carolina by courting conservative Democrats. But North Carolina has maintained the strongest Democratic Party in the South during the past decade by siphoning off moderate Starbucks Republicans.
As conservative British Prime Minister HaroldMcMillan (1957-63) once noted: "A successful party of the right must continue to recruit from the center and even from the left center. Once it begins to shrink into itself like a snail, it will be doomed."

 Bathtub water.  More revisionist history from yet another "we gots to please everyone to be relevant" sour puss.  The Republican Party grew under Reagan because it touted conservative principles and that alone won the hearts and minds of Americans.

Americans I might remind you that are by and large conservative and respond appropriately when leaders exhibit conservative qualities.   Reagan won in 1980 and 1984 by speaking conservative principles that conservative America could respond to.

Let's not beat about the bush.  Moderates bring nothing to the party except compromise as we have seen with the healthcare debate, and during the Bush years with judges, the war, etc.   They compromise because they have no core, hence the meaning of their name.

When you hear a moderate talk about "purity" it's because they've been found out.  What they want is compromise.  Not on the other side mind you, just us.  Not compromise from liberalism, but from conservatives.

Moderates should rename themselves the "Co-Dependent Party", for they are always about pleasing the wrong side and excusing and blaming themselves for the wrong in others.

Charleston GOP Censures Lindsey Graham

Via Ambinder,  the full censure as follows:

"Whereas, U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham (SC) and John Kerry (MA) have called for a bipartisan bill dealing with "climate change" via a "Cap & Trade" energy bill;
 Whereas, the basis of Cap & Trade - global warming caused by carbon emissions - is still in doubt as evidenced by the past decade of cooling temperatures;
 Whereas, the people of South Carolina can ill afford the job-killing Cap & Trade bill's ripple effects on our state's economy and on personal energy bills;
 Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham supported TARP and has shown a willingness to discuss nationalizing U.S. banking institutions;
 Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has shown a condescending attitude toward his constituents by calling them "bigots" when they oppose his stance on amnesty for illegal aliens;
 Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has stated on many occasions that his primary concern is to "be relevant";
 Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham continues to hold the Republican Party hostage and undermines Republican leadership and party solidarity for his own benefit by joining the "Gang of 10" and the "Gang of 14";
 Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham - in the name of bipartisanship - continues to weaken the Republican brand and tarnish the ideals of freedom, rule of law, and fiscal conservatism.
 Therefore, let it be resolved: The Charleston County Republican Party Executive Committee respectfully requests, with sincere sadness that the South Carolina Republican Party withdraw their resolution commending U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and that the Charleston Country Republican Party censure U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham for many of the positions he has taken that do not represent the wishes of the people of South Carolina, such as: passing a "Cap & Trade" energy bill, bailing out banks, and granting amnesty for illegal aliens.

Wow!  Let the purge begin!

Tell Boehner to Strip Cao of his Committee Seats

We are not going to tolerate traitors in this party.

 Tell Boehner to strip Joseph Cao of his committee memberships for his siding with dems on Obamacase. P. (202) 225-4000 | F. (202) 225-5117

 Here's the list of committee assignments this ass-clown holds.

Committee on Homeland Security
Subcommittee on Emergency Communications,
Preparedness, and Response Subcommittee on Management,
Investigations, and Oversight Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Economic Development,
Public Buildings and Emergency Management Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials
Committee on Oversight and Government Reform

 Additionally we need to send a message that this type of ship jumping will no longer be tolerated, tell the GOP NOT ONE DIME to help Cao to be reelected when his term is up.

 It makes little difference to protect this district against dems when RINOS will vote with them anyway.  Hold Steele to his promise to boot those who side with dems.

"So candidates who live in moderate to slightly liberal districts have got to walk a little bit carefully here, because you do not want to put yourself in a position where you're crossing that line on conservative principles, fiscal principles, because we'll come after you,"
 Cao Must Go!

See what a RINO will Get You? Cao Deals with the Devil

For all those who think that RINOs have a place in a conservative agenda, vis, the Republican Party, here's your proof they don't.

 Malkin:

 "One Republican voted for Pelosicare: GOP Rep. Anh (Joseph) Cao of Louisiana.
Yes, he’s the one who took over corruptocrat Democrat William Jefferson’s seat.
I had reservations about him on election night because of his soft-on-immigration views. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
If he could stand strong on limited government and fiscal conservatism, it would be worth it.
Well, since he was elected, Cao has backed the S-CHIP expansion, the $108 billion IMF bailout, and the omni-waste spending bill. And he voted to rebuke GOP Rep. Joe Wilson for calling out President Obama on his health care lies.
That is a steep price to pay for Rep. William Jefferson’s removal.
Can’t the GOP do better?

We can and we will.   But we know where that begins.   The GOP backed Cao, just like they did Scozzafava.  After Specter, Snowe, Graham, and the rest of the Party Poopers, Cao should be the call to begin keep the purge going.

We need leadership at the GOP.  Michael Steele isn't the leader we need.   Steele needs to step down if we have any hope of returning America to where it belongs.

We gain nothing by allowing these traitors the honor of wearing a "R" next to their name, and everything by sending them back to the street.

Let the RINO Hunt Begin

I told you that 2010 and 2012 will be the beginning of the end of RINOS in the Republican Party. Let the purge begin.
"In what could be a nightmare scenario for Republican Party officials, conservative activists are gearing up to challenge leading GOP candidates in more than a dozen key House and Senate races in 2010. Conservatives and tea party activists had already set their sights on some of the GOP’s top Senate recruits — a list that includes Gov. Charlie Crist in Florida, former Rep. Rob Simmons in Connecticut and Rep. Mark Kirk in Illinois, among others. But their success in Tuesday’s upstate New York special election, where grass-roots efforts pushed GOP nominee Dede Scozzafava to drop out of the race and helped Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman surge into the lead on the eve of Election Day, has generated more money and enthusiasm than organizers ever imagined. Activists predict a wave that could roll from California to Kentucky to New Hampshire and that could leave even some GOP incumbents — Utah Sen. Bob Bennett is one — facing unexpectedly fierce challenges from their right flank. “I would say it’s the tip of the spear,” said Dick Armey, the former GOP House majority leader who now serves as chairman of FreedomWorks, an organization that has been closely aligned with the tea party movement. “We are the biggest source of energy in American politics today.”
It's time has come. Don't believe the dying whining of the RINOS in the blogsphere let you believe that this is anything but a GOOD thing for our party.

 Repeat this over and over.

 The Republican Party wins ONLY when Conservatism is it's core. Willy-Nilly RINOISM got us shalacked in 2006 and 2008. Trying to out liberal the liberals, quasi-Republicans made deals with the devil and got burned in the process.

 For all that "reaching across the isle" that McCain, Graham, Snowe and others touted what did it gain? Nada. Pelosi is locking Republicans out of meetings, pushing her far-left socialist agenda on Americans.

 The only way we stop her is by getting that gavel out of her hand. We do that by putting conservatism back in command of this country and that task has begun.

We will target any candidate, incumbent or otherwise, who does not adhere to and prove by record store conservative core principles of governance.
