Ho-hum blogs.....
I've noticed something, well, disturbing trend since the 2004 election. That being the overall boring-ness of blogs. Blogs like Little Green Footballs, Polipundit, who led the way in breaking "Rather-gate", seemed resigned to boring and 'boorish' diatribes on "hotlinking" (give me a break), and the lastest babe in bikini pictures.
Back in the early days of the internet (cir. 1991-1992), I was considered one of the most prolific newsgroup posters' on the web. It was fanastic. Journalism students like me found it fantastic that from a computer and a 1200 baud modem we could put out a works that would be read world-wide. It was a very exciting time. Yet as more and more people joined in the fun the postings became more and more ridiculous, and bane. Newsgroups had their 15 minutes. Now they are nothing more than breeding grounds for porn posting and other less than edifying things.
I'm hoping I'm wrong, but blogging may have had it's fifteen minutes of fame as well.
