The EU Blame Game

Schroeder blames Britain for
failure of crunch EU summit

Germany Blames England, the French blame Chirac, Chirac blamed his Prime Minister and fired him . Excuse me, but this sounds like a really bad Marx Brothers movie.

From the article the problem is of two mindsets according to Britain's Foreign Secretary Jack Straw:

"Europe is divided," Straw told a radio interviewer on Saturday. "It is essentially a division between whether you want a European Union that is able to cope with the future or whether you want a European Union that is trapped in the past."

The reason this EU idea is failing could be, not that people want to stay in the past, but that voters are simply rejecting the future that their leaders have in mind.
