Bang of a Summer IX- Bush in Bagdad leaves MSM holding the .....Bag

While Rove slept peacefully and restfully......

Bush headed to Baghdad leaving the press to wonder, "What the?"

"BAGHDAD (Reuters) - President George W. Bush made his second visit to Baghdad since the 2003 invasion on Tuesday, days after U.S. forces killed al Qaeda's chief in Iraq.

"Good to see you," Iraq's new Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki told Bush as they shook hands in one of Saddam Hussein's old palaces. "Thanks for having me," Bush replied.

The White House said Bush would be on the ground for more than five hours and would also meet U.S. troops during the surprise trip, begun in high secrecy.

The visit, his first since November 2003 when he went to see U.S. troops for Thanksgiving, comes six days after a U.S. air strike killed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, leader of al Qaeda in Iraq.

A wave of bombings hit the oil city of Kirkuk on Tuesday, killing 14 people, in what was seen as a bid by al Qaeda to show the death of its leader would not stop its campaign of violence.

Maliki was told about the trip only five minutes before meeting Bush and many of Bush's own aides were kept in the dark.

From Baghdad International Airport, Bush boarded a Blackhawk helicopter for an 8-minute ride in searing heat into the heavily fortified "Green Zone" for meetings with Iraqi officials at the U.S. embassy.

Only Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, in addition to first lady Laura Bush, were aware Bush had left Camp David abruptly on Monday night.

Others had expected to see him at Camp David on Tuesday where a videoconference with Iraqi officials was due to be held."

Not a good day AGAIN for the left - awww hell, on the heals of Kos Tin Fest, it really a sucky week for them. First a "toast" to Zarqawi, then no Rove indictment, and now Bush is in Baghdad showing that he is in control.

Now there are these Gallup poll numbers showing about an 8-point jump in the polls.

Talk about BDS......., h/t Allah Pundit.

Well Moonbats, get used to it, it's going to be, ....dare I say it again? A Bang of a Summer!

UPDATE: Per a tip, the Bush visit is a precusor to turning over game to the Iraqi's in TOTAL. More on this later, but again, it makes sense, and not really news as a measured pull back has been expected for a couple of weeks now.

UPDATE II: Heh.....I know it's AP, but this photo is a hoot! Hooorah Tony!

UPDATE III: Bush's meeting compared to meetings certain other presidents have had....heh.

Calling Mr. Fitzgerald?

As I told you about in this post yesterday as a source confirmed to me that the Justice Department has launched a probe into the NSA leak. Mr. Risen, you are in trouble - prepare your defense. I told you so.

The White House will be announcing the probe at about 12:30pm. My source tells me that this probe will most likely result in another prosecutor being assigned as of course Fitzgerald is still busy/dizzy on the Plame/Game No-Leak. Additionally, other probes into other recent leaks such as the CIA 'prisons'leak is in the works as well. As I said, this is the NEW Bush - on the attack - it's no more Mr. Nice Guy!

About time! Also covering Michelle Malkin

UPDATE II: Looks like I owe my source big time as yet another tip comes true as the Washington Post is on the target list as well for the CIA Prison leak.

Sniper Attack Las Vegas Music Festival

Police are hunting for the female companion of a lone gunman who killed at least 20 people, including two off-duty police officers, and injured more than 100 injured in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
Officers believe Marilou Danley, who they described as a middle-aged Asian woman, has more information on the man who attacked the Route 91 Harvest Festival on Sunday night before being killed.
That man was named by 9 News as Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old man from Mesquite, Nevada, who was known to local law enforcement.
Police were reported to be searching his house in the early hours of Monday morning, though there was no indication of a motive.
The Strip was completely shut down after the man, described by police as 'a local' opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay resort and casino.
