As we said all along Saddam DID have WMD.
"WASHINGTON — The United States has found 500 chemical weapons in Iraq since 2003, and more weapons of mass destruction are likely to be uncovered, two Republican lawmakers said Wednesday.
"We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons," Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., said in a quickly called press conference late Wednesday afternoon.
Reading from a declassified portion of a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center, a Defense Department intelligence unit, Santorum said: "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent. Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq's pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist."
Let me tell you that the report is valid and leaves absolutely NO room for question. That won't stop the left from the "No WMD" stupidity or the "Yeah right, Fox!!" crap. Remember Fox broke the Oil for Food Scam (the reason France, Germany and Russian didn't want Saddam gone) among many others over the last few years and there is a reason they lead in cable news wars - people know that they aren't getting the truth from other sources.
"He added that the report warns about the hazards that the chemical weapons could still pose to coalition troops in Iraq.
"The purity of the agents inside the munitions depends on many factors, including the manufacturing process, potential additives and environmental storage conditions. While agents degrade over time, chemical warfare agents remain hazardous and potentially lethal," Santorum read from the document."
Now some will say, "Yeah these were munitions that predated the first Iraq war, so they don't count". Idiots. The fact is that they were still in Iraq and Saddam did not declare them, AND the report says that they were hidden as to evade detection from the ISG. Even though they do not prove an ongoing WMD program in the 90s, they do show that both Saddam was still playing games and the coveted ISG and Hans Blix work left a lot to be desired.
The article asks why President Bush - knowing about the report since April (when I told you it would be a bang of a summer), didn't capitalize on it.
"This says weapons have been discovered, more weapons exist and they state that Iraq was not a WMD-free zone, that there are continuing threats from the materials that are or may still be in Iraq," said Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
The weapons are thought to be manufactured before 1991 so they would not be proof of an ongoing WMD program in the 1990s. But they do show that Saddam Hussein was lying when he said all weapons had been destroyed, and it shows that years of on-again, off-again weapons inspections did not uncover these munitions.
Hoekstra said the report, completed in April but only declassified now, shows that "there is still a lot about Iraq that we don't fully understand."
Asked why the Bush administration, if it had known about the information since April or earlier, didn't advertise it, Hoekstra conjectured that the president has been forward-looking and concentrating on the development of a secure government in Iraq."
Well that isn't exactly true. The fact is that the Administration has been intensily interested not only in this report, but in the content of the tens of thousands of other documents that are being translated and which Ray Robison is covering over at Fox, and which has shown valid and compelling links between Saddam and the Taliban.
With the democratics stuck on their stupid "Cut and Run" mantra, this couldn't be coming at a worst time. It's going to be a Bang of a Summer and a Blizzard of a November - for Democrats, as more and more the truth comes out. Watch for the MSM and the Democrats and the Moonbats to go into serious damage control as the House of Cards they created comes tumbling down.
