State of the Democratic Party

You know the saying, "Can't stand prosperity"?

Enter the Democratic Party. This afternoon while Justice Samuel Alito was being sworn in, Democrats were sitting in sackcloth and ashes wondering what hit them.

On the eve of President Bush's SOTU speech, the MSM is parading their same old tired and Democratic respondent weighted polls saying, "See? Bush is in BIG trouble!"

Forgetting of course that other less published polls (but more accurate) show it's basically 50/50 for the President at this point. But then it doesn't matter does it? He's not running again anyway.

Fact is that the Democratic Party is in disarray , not knowing what they believe, nor believing what they know. What was the term during the 2004 election? Oh yeah, "No core".

Even the press has taken notice. Lefty Extrordinaire Dana Milbank laments the anemia:

"The new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds congressional Democrats in the best position they've held in 14 years, besting President Bush and Republican lawmakers on Iraq, the economy, health care, immigration, ethics and more.

All of which can mean only one thing: It is time for the Democrats to eat their own.

Right on cue, liberal activists including Cindy Sheehan and Ramsey Clark gathered yesterday at the Busboys & Poets restaurant and bookshop at 14th and V streets NW for what they billed as a forum on "The Impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney." But the participants, while charging the administration with "crimes against humanity," a "war of aggression" and even "the supreme international crime," inevitably turned their wrath on congressional Democrats, whom they regarded as a bunch of wimps.

"Does the Democratic Party want to continue to exist or does it want to ignore what 85 percent of its supporters want?" demanded David Swanson, a labor union official who runs "Impeach PAC" and other efforts to remove Bush from office. Singling out Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid (Nev.) for derision, Swanson said that Democrats who do the right thing "are exceptions."

**Sniff!***

Fact is Dana, your party sold it's soul to the hardcore and unhinged left during 2004 and their expecting their payback. After all, they put in their quarter, they want their gum. Yet instead of getting fresh gum, their stepping in it - among other substances and continue to spiral into a vortex of confusing positions and counter positions followed by the "hoof and mouth" that their 'leaders' are known to trip into right on cue.

Clown characteratures of real people - fun to make cartoons out of. It's going to be really fun to watch the continued meltdown as they will continue to lose their 'base' (who's lost anyway), and lose yet another round of elections in 2006 and 2008.

They should have listened to Zell.

UPDATE: More evidence.

UPDATE II: Unhindged, the left prepares for the SOTU.
