As I said here, the Democrats don't want this fight.
American's by and large want a Sheriff, especially during these dangerous times. They don't want wimps who will get them killed. The more Democrats pander to the far left and piss and moan about "Spying on Americans", the more they come off as soft on terrorism and pro-terrorist rights.
Fact is that they can't win this battle.
When it gets down to it, National Security wins everytime, and in this message they have NO message - except what Murtha outlined for them, and what John Kerry ran on in 2004.
