Richard Cohen, a very useful idiot

The Washingon Post columnist Richard Cohen proves to disinformation no one takes a back seat on the Pincus Paper of record.

In his diatribe today, Cohen makes the accusation that us on the right claim that Democratic claims of "Bush lied" are simply fabrications.

"Along with such creations as American POWs still being held in Vietnam and the Bill Clinton drug-smuggling operation at a remote Arkansas air strip, the unhinged right wing has now invented the myth that Democratic members of Congress have called President Bush ``a liar'' about Iraq. An insistent computer search by myself and a Washington Post researcher can come up with no such accusation. That's prudent. After all, it's not clear if Bush lied about Iraq or he was merely the ``useful idiot'' of those who did."

Well let's see....

ABC News January 25, 2005:

"One Senate Democrat called Condoleezza Rice a liar Tuesday and others said she was an apologist for Bush administration failures in Iraq, but she remained on track for confirmation as secretary of state.

Rice, who has been President Bush's White House national security adviser for four years, was one of the loudest voices urging war, Democrats said. She repeatedly deceived members of Congress and Americans at large about justifications for the war, said Sen. Mark Dayton, D-Minn.

"I don't like impugning anyone's integrity, but I really don't like being lied to," Dayton said. "Repeatedly, flagrantly, intentionally."

Let's not these gems from last week:

"On this Veterans Day, the president had the opportunity to honor our troops, both those who have served and those who are currently serving, by laying out a clear strategy for success in the war in Iraq. Instead, the president resorted to his old playbook of discredited rhetoric about the War on Terror and political attacks as his own political fortunes and credibility diminish," Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada said in a statement.

"Attacking those patriotic Americans who have raised serious questions about the case the Bush administration made to take our country to war does not provide us a plan for success that will bring our troops home."

"It's deeply regrettable that the president is using Veterans Day as a campaign-like attempt to rebuild his own credibility by tearing down those who seek the truth about the clear manipulation of intelligence in the run-up to the Iraq war," added Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass. "Instead of providing open and honest answers about how we will achieve success in Iraq and allow our troops to begin to come home, the president reverted to the same manipulation of facts to justify a war we never should have fought."

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., said Bush is "playing the politics of fear and smear" and accused the administration of "cherry-picking intelligence and stretching the truth beyond recognition."

Mr. Cohen? You need a new researcher, I found those in .0002 seconds on Google.

The problem with Cohen is that he's typical of liberals in general. When you call them on their bull crap they get all defensive and play semantics. Just like "depends on what you mean by lie".

The rest of his article attempts (poorly) to divide again Saddam and Al Qaeda. Just like I posted here, this is the real reason they are coming forward with this rehash of the 2004 election game plan.

Yet, thankfully people (who know what in the hell they are talking about) are talking about the connection again. Frankly, 9/11 'omission' Commission's whole purpose in stepping over Able Danger was to avoid this link. Like it or not, believe it or not the link existed. If you don't believe it, keep coming back, I'm going to prove over the coming days.

Because of Rep. Curt Weldon's insistence, the courage of Lt. Col. Schaffer, and 200 signatures of members of Congress the truth which is contained in the Able Danger story just might get told.

The fact is that democrats are smelling the donkey fat in the fire. That's why they're throwing everything they got into this "Bush lied; cooked intel, etc", because they know that when the story of the links are finally told, the damage to Democrat's "credibility" which is about zero now, will be tanked for decades.

The American public seeing how they were lied to by the Democrats and more specifically how the Clinton administration allowed 9/11 to happen because of Gorelick's wall and just crappy intelligence gathering, will turn on the Democrats faster than you can say, "Yeeeahh!"
